INTERNAL OF FILL POINT CABINET ::

Gravity drop road tankers without there own discharge pumps can now fill up above ground storage tanks. Most tankers of this nature use 80mm hoses fitted to the underside of the trailer to discharge there product. Simply connect the opposite end of the hose to the cabinet fill point assembly, open both valves {Cabinet & Trailer} turn on the pump and fill up your tank. When you have finished, close the trailer valve, disconnect the hose and walk the hose towards the pump till all the product has been sucked out of the hose and into the pipe work. A large 80mm sight glass is fitted so you can see that there is fuel in the line. Never pump without any liquid in the pipe work. A non return valve is fitted just after the inlet valve so no fuel can come back down the fill pipe and leak out in to the cabinet.

This new tank for Caledonian Maritime is situated on a very sensitive location on the pier at Otternish. The tank is half buried in an open top pit & open top bund that was continually filling with water creating a situation where the tank and bund was floating. Koronka manufactured a new totally enclosed bunded unit fitted rain skirt fully welded to the tank to shed any water. A small lip was then constructed on the ground so no rain water could enter the pit. A purpose built cabinet was constructed to house the pumping station and hose reel so they are contained when not in use. The whole unit is shot blasted and two pack epoxy paint finish to protect it from the harsh saline conditions off the west coast of Scotland.
